L'Amour Des Moules is a landscape for encounters between man and nature in a place where industry has created a wasteland. The design studio in which the design was developed was led by Allesandra Covini and Giovanni Bellotti (Studio Ossidiana). The project was nominated for the Iktinos Award at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture.
In collaboration with Juriaan Blom and Belle van den Berg, we designed a site for the reintroduction of the mussel in the Maasvlakte II and in doing so catalysing an ecosystem.
The designs for the encounters are inspired by ways in which the mussel has been cultivated and it's natural habitat.
