Architecture of Removal creates a social hub in the unused space of shops that became redundant due to digitalisation. The design studio in which the design was developed was led by Claudio Saccucci and Roxane van Hoof (Studio Verter).
The intervention consists of transforming the extension at the shipping courtyard into a living room for the block. Five bays of the extended storage area are repurposed into a space for residents and casual passengers that will act as a semi-public living room. The space is for residents to go to when they want to leave their dormitory to read a book, study, meet other residents or just relax.
